Current Research:

At this time I am researching the phenomenon of the Quinceañera. Specifically exploring through physicality the shift in meaning and representation by examining photographs of quinceañeras from 1950s through the early 2000 in order to create movement sketches.

Once these sketches are completed I will move on to the next stage of this research, which will include conducting interviews with a select group of quinceañeras. Through these interviews I hope to collect glimpses into the lived experience of this coming of age celebration and translating the varied stories to physicality and then compositions.
